It has certainly been a busy few weeks! The first session for LearningQuest (slides linked below) had about 150 people in attendance and went very well. I had several great questions come up that I will have to research before the next session on Thursday.
We don’t know exactly what the weather will do this week as far as closures. We have the big conference room at HudsonAlpha reserved, but please check for further updates before coming in person in case we switch to a virtual only meetup for this week.
The main subject of the night will be AI for code development. We looked at this some time in the past with the StarCoder model, but there are many options available now. Some are free (and limited), while others are inexpensive. We will try to cover Copilot, Cursor, and a self hosted option. Please let me know if you have experience/opinions on these and we can get that in the discussion as well!
There is also an NVIDIA meetup at Torch earlier on Wednesday. I believe that several of us might be able to make it, so we should be able to share any info we pick up. I’ll drop a link to their signup in case you want to go.
